The facility was a full service car wash that also offered Gulf gasoline.
Plato's Poodle Palace
This pampered pup was the 1970 advertising mascot for Plato's Poodle Palace, located at 42381 N. Ridge Road (Route 254). Their slogan: "If your poodle isn't becoming to you, he should be coming to us."
Clovervale Creamery
This contented cow was the advertising mascot for Clovervale Creamery, which had a plant at 226 Connecticut in Lorain. The 1965 ad featuring this bovine beauty listed retail stores in Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake, N. Ridgeville and Vermilion. They also offered home delivery.
Western Bred Beef
This Stetson-wearing steer was the advertising mascot for Western Bred Beef in the 1970 Lorain phone book. The company was located in the Ridgeview Shopping Center in North Ridgeville and specialized in meat for home freezers.
I hope this crazy cow didn't get roped into becoming a stack of patties in a meat locker!
